Enric
Pubill, President of the Association of Ex-political Prisoners of
Catalunya has died aged 86. He spent 10 years in Franco prisons for anti
dictatorship activity.
Enric was a wonderful human and will be a huge loss to anyone who knew him. It was a privilege to have met him and I am forever grateful he trusted me with his story, and gave me his time and kindness.
He continued to go to the office based in CCOO de Catalunya every morning, always giving himself and his time to fighting for justice and recognition. He particularly respected and recognised the work of women during the struggles of the dictatorship and in the association today, and always made a point of talking about this. Walking through the corridors you could see he was loved by everyone he met. A gentle, generous and determined man who always had a kind word.
